Recommended Customer Reviews
The company needs customer service training. No one cares, lack of follow up phone calls, only reply to e-mails if requested. Had a contract for bath remodeling with a previous employee of A-Able that no one followed through on. Still today after the contract started in Sept. 2016, we have no resolve. And will not get resolve since we have contracted with another company. Stay away.
OUT $1457+. Stay away!!! Negligent technicians!!!
HVAC technician installed a 220v blower motor for a 120v system in February of 2015(wrong blower motor, but I didn't know at the time). In July of 2015 a different technician from AAbel came to my home to perform an inspection/service on my HVAC system. This technician completely missed the wrong motor install even though I told him it was VERY HOT upstairs. He simply said my System is about to go out and I should replace it if I had any repairs over $300. I took his word for it and started shopping for units.
Fast forward to now.... I have a separate company come out to troubleshoot my AC system based on some friends suggestion and the non AAbel technician finds the wrong motor installed within ten minutes....wHAT!!!! I've been suffering with high electric bills and discomfort because of AAbels lack of competence this whole time!!!!
I called AAbel the next day and the service manager apologizes and says he will reimburse for initial motor install, 2 service calls by AAbel, and the outside companies diagnosis($706.50). All I had to do was send him an invoice with the company saying the wrong part is installed.... Awesome, I thought I would have to fight this!!! Wait...
I get an email the next day saying they will not reimburse me, they want to fix it. I explained I will not be letting a company with a history of technical negligence into my home. Besides, I've already made a verbal agreement with another company to fix it based on what the service manager told me the day earlier. They continue to refuse reimbursement. So, I'm out a total of $1457.50, not including the window units I had to buy and future legal fees. Ohhh and by the way, from what The service tech told me that fixed it right, low airflow through an HVAC system can damage it.... Please stay away and tell your friends. I know I have!!!!
On a bright side, a competent technician from a different company installed the right part and its working perfectly.
UPDATE: AAbel has reimbursed me for the original amount agreed upon.
Jason B.Stay away. Will charge you $50 for a trip charge just to evaluate the job. Once they get there they'll tell you the actual price. They won't tell you that $50 does not get applied to the job at hand. So a very minor repair will cost you $150+. We needed a single elbow joint replaced, $150!!!! took the kid less than 30 min to complete the task.
Find someone else.
Patricia K.I needed someone to come out today and help with a critter in the attic...
A-Abel here and done within 3 hrs of my call. They were
super curteous. Clean. Fast. Kind. Helpful. It was one of those
service calls you dream of going WELL.
I am so so so pleased with A-Abel.com I think I might even put up a free promo ad for them on one of my local sites - such as ConnectingOhio.com or EducationOhio.com -- that's how much
I liked my A-Abel Service.

I had a able treat my home for insects and paid $138 to do so. I do not want to see spiders in my house and all around the outside that they say they sprayed when I paid $138 to not see spiders! I called them back and told them that I still have spiders and even showed them webs and the tech showed me another bill for $138 to re spray my house and also let me know that it may not have been sprayed well or it may not have been affective due to rain. I refused to pay them again for a service that did not work. I will never use them or recommend them.
Melissa F.We sent a private message to address these issues, but they didn't care enough to respond. Service was bad. Tub was installed incorrectly and caused a major leak. Read more below:
We were very dissatisfied with the service we received, and even more so that we still have not been contacted for a follow-up by a representative from your company.
We had a leak from our bathtub that caused damage in the ceiling below the bathroom. Upon inspection, your tech recommended we have the bathtub replaced due to rust. We spent $5,000 to replace the bathtub and the walls surrounding the tube. We were told that it would take 1-1.5 days.
Our first bad experience was with the installation schedule, which wound up taking 2 full days. On the second day, work was supposed to begin at 8am. The tech arrived and told us that he, and all other techs, had been called into the shop to have GPS installed on their trucks. Luckily, he was able to borrow a car to return to the job, but the job started late and he took over an hour in the middle of the job to drive to Aabel to see if his truck was ready. He also left tools in his truck, but luckily, we had some tools for him to borrow. My question to your company is, why did the GPS have to be installed at that very moment? Why interrupt a paying customer's job in order to do that? Very bad business on your part and it shows a great disrespect to your customer.
Our next bad experience, and the one that by far will prevent us from ever using your company again or recommending you to anyone else: the tub was not installed properly!!! Unfortunately, after the first use, I came downstairs to find that our tub had drained into the kitchen, the very problem that we had called you out to fix in the first place! An Aabel plumber came out the next day and found several things wrong: a nut had not been tightened and the tub/waste overflow AND the drain were loose and not sealed. It seems as though this type of thing should be checked, and double-checked, before signing off on a job. And yet, we were left with a kitchen full of water due to this complete oversight by your tech.
What upsets me the most is that if we had not had tiny holes drilled in our sealing due to the previous leak, we NEVER would have known there was a problem! How long would it have taken for that water damage to show in our home?! How many other homes have you worked on that this may have happened to? And how long will it take for those homes to show the water damage?
We spent $5000 with your company and NO ONE has bothered to call to follow-up on this issue or even offer an apology. We are very disappointed with your service and lack of quality. We will not be using you again or referring you to anyone else we know.
Brandon G.The Service call for my A/C not working was $79.50, which is understandable, considering the type of work and the specialty. But they attempted to charge me $300 for a dual capacitor that I found locally for $30, YES, THIRTY DOLLARS, and for 2-20A fuses they wanted to charge me $45 for both, I found a 2-pack at Lowe's for $12.50. Needless to say, I politely told the repair man that I will not be paying that ridiculous amount and fixed it the same day myself thanks to youtube, and saved close to $300...After a call to the company, the ""manager"" gave me the Business-101 rundown about overhead and paying employees yada yada yada...I understand how a business is ran, but this is highway robbery!!!
My complaint is not against the plumbing repair work itself. The plumber repaired one of the leaks satisfactorily. The plumber was a nice guy, but he made a mistake. However during the repair process, the plumber flooded my living room. I had to tell him we need to turn the water off now! He said ""I'll send someone out here to clean this up"". I thought it was safe to assume since he made the mess that he would make good on fixing the mess at his company's expense, not mine. Company goodwill, right? I did NOT authorize or agree to pay for carpet cleaning. BTW, guess who came to clean the carpets...A Abel. If I'm going to hire a carpet cleaner at my expense, I'm surely not going to hire the same business that caused the damage. Sensing a huge conflict of interest yet? Quite a racquet they got going here.
When I got the final bill, I was charged for the plumbing work (which I was ok to pay) as well as the carpet cleaning bill. Until I received the bill, I was not made aware of any additional charges other than plumbing repairs. This house was a foreclosure and I'd planned to replace all the floors anyways, so why would I clean the carpets at my expense?
To top this all off, I called several (5+) times to reconcile this with billing and the plumbing service management. They were nonresponsive for 4 weeks. They dodged me, the bill paying customer (???). I left messages; they left me no voicemails or emails until yesterday, stating that they weren't going to adjust the bill or admit any fault.
Overall, D-. Stay away from A Abel. Their billing and management are hard broke.
A Abel completed a bathroom remodel for our home. They did a beautiful job, the price was reasonable, and they coped with a number of unexpected issues due to amateurish work that had been done by a prior owner of the home. My wife and I are very satisfied with the result.
The technician John arrived to my surprise Promptly @ 12. The window given was 12-5. Very professional appearance. My carpets look like new, and they were in rough shape. The tech did not try to sell me extra services or products, he used what my carpets needed. He did not rush and leave a mess behind like many other companies. The carpets were damp as expected but not soaking wet. He cleaned up after he was done, made sure all water from hoses was wiped up. My first experience with AAbel and I will use them again in the future for other services. Very pleased.
