Jose Vasquez from A-1 Total service Plumbing responded to my mother's house to fix various items at her house. Jose was friendly and professional. He was kind and patient with my mother who spoke very little English. He replaced the parts and showed my mother how to operate the shower and faucet before leaving the house. I highly recommend this company for anyone who is in need for plumbing service because they have fast respond time and they provide professional service.

Zero transparency on pricing. I paid $1200 to replace about $100 (being generous here) worth of pipe in an easily accessible basement. I understand that labor, insurance, bonding, warranty, etc. makes things cost more but I'm totally in the dark about where my money went. I was also told by A1 that I got a good deal on the work. That's compared to what A1 themselves normally charges. I called to get some details and was told they do not itemize the invoices but a manger would call me back. I gave them three business days and had to call them back. I was then told a the technician would call me back and he did and I spoke with him and got all the same answers. No fault on his part since the company sets the prices (""book prices"" which I was also not allowed to see). It was an expensive (too expensive? I don't know since I don't know what I paid for) and frustrating experience. I won't be going with them again and I also learned to push back more and am much more willing to deny a quote and go somewhere else when it seems ridiculous.

In April 2023, we had a gas leak. We called A1 to fix our gas line. It took them three days to fix what should have been a simple leak.

Two days later, we started experiencing issues with our toilets. We called A1. Technician came out and said that the issue was not related to the repair of the gas line; that likely the issue had been there a while and our pipes were backed up and needed to be flushed out. He snaked the drain.

We continued to have plumbing issues and called a third party who came out and scoped the sewer. As it turned out, when putting in a new gas line, the A1 tech skewered our sewer line, and that was the cause of the issue.

Two days ago, we discovered another gas leak. We contacted the gas company and they came out Monday evening, determined we had a leak, turned off our gas. We contacted A1 to come out, as we have a ten year warranty on the parts and labor from their work. The initial tech they sent, Jose, said there was no gas leak at all. We called a a 3rd party plumber; he came out and and said there was a ""massive"" leak. We called A1 again; they attempted to send the same tech out. We said no, we need a more experienced tech. Admittedly, I was extremely frustrated and raised my voice when I called back - the dispatcher proceeded to hang up on me.

The manager called me back and apologized. I sent him evidence from the 3rd party plumber, and they send another technician out. After three hours, Guillermo (who was great) fixed not one, but two leaks. He said one happened to be massive. We called then called the gas company to come out and turn our gas back on. The gas company then found an issue with the earthquake valve (which had no issues before). I called A1 again - regardless of the issues I had, they said that particular part wasn't under warranty and they would give me no break on pricing for the replacement and labor.

This is all while wildfires are raging through LA, and could have caused a massive explosion.

Two days in, we still do not have hot water and heat. It was 48 degrees in LA last night.
