Recommended Customer Reviews
My sewer line backed up on a Sunday night. A friend recommended A1, and I am glad she did! They were out the same day and got out all fixed up for a reasonable price. Very happy with the service.
We called because they had been highly recommended - it had been 32 days since they had been out and they said sorry - you had 30 days - it will cost you another $150 - we said thanks but no thanks - their ad said beware of the $99 specials of other places - I would say beware of the $150 charge if they don't guarantee their work
I had a backed up main basement line and when the tech got here I was told a second tech needed to come help lift a machine downstairs and that it would be an additional $150 for the help. The rationale being that this rarely happens so they don't bring up the possibility of it when scheduling appointments and that its on me to make up lost revenue by having a 2nd tech wait around.
So instead of doing something to help out the one off customer and get glowing reviews, they charge them double the price and now get bad reviews and lose potential new business because I'm certainly not referring them to anyone. Disappointing.
Karen C.Once again A-1 came to the rescue.
Thank you Aaron for fixing the leak in the bath tub drain. Usually we need A-1 for main line clean out of tree roots but this time the bathtub leak was calling. Always prompt and efficient.
Ivan T.I have had great service with A-1, plumbers who came out to my house were friendly and followed the covid guidelines, they cleaned up after their work and priced competitively. I will look no further than this company next time I need plumbing service again.
This company was out ten days ago to clear my mainline. They warrantied the work for 90 days. They are supposed to be a 24/7 service. I called yesterday morning for an appointment. I was told they may not be out say day, but would definitely be today. I waited all day to hear from them as they call you 30 min before sending a technician. I missed their call by about 30 seconds, so I was pushed to the bottom of the list. I called them immediately back, but they still won't be out until sometime tomorrow. In the meantime, I can't use any of my plumbing and have to drive to a gas station to use the bathroom (during a pandemic). This is unacceptable and I suspect a ploy to not honor their warranty. I have used this company several times in the past and I am very disappointed in them. It is unreasonable to expect people to be constantly available to receive a 30-60 minute window
We have been a loyal customer if A-1 for 10+ years until now...when a problem was evaluated incorrectly by one of their plumbers. A-1 would not stand by their work or waive a service visit fee to come back & reevaluate the problem that they missed the first time. Seek another plumbing professional if you want accurate & honest work. It's too bad they are willing to lose a 10+ year customer off a $70 fee.
I was told that their service call fee is $70 but that the amount can be applied towards any work that needs to be done. After the plumber, Charles, looked at my toilet, he said the service call would be $132 because he actually had to do work. I would be charged $15 for a wax ring (these are $3 at Ace), a $90 fee to set the toilet, plus labor. This was all in addition to the $132 service fee. I can't remember the exact total but it was over $300. That's a lot to reset a toilet, but the reason for this negative review is that they changed the service call fee after he realized he would need to do some actual work. It's an ingenious business plan, to set a low service call fee to get into people's houses and then change the amount once there.
Michael was awesome at clearing a very difficult clog we had worked on for several days and were only able to move further down the system causing more problems. He was extremely polite and shared his knowledge with us about future considerations regarding the sewage system.
GREAT JOB!!!
Fair prices!
Super quick response!
THANKS!!!
Honestly, I wish I could write a better review but being argued with and scammed outweighs the good unfortunately. We have used this company multiple times with success but will not use them again. They do not guarantee their work, even a few days after it's done. The technicians are hard working and polite. Make sure you get all info though before hiring or you'll be paying multiple times for them to ""fix""the same problem.
