I began my career in the 1970s and have worked for only a few employers. I started with a family-run business led by Bruce Campbell in Laguna Beach, a brilliant individual who initiated a plumbing training program in 1933; I learned a great deal from him. Then, I transitioned to commercial construction while attending UC Irvine to study business law. I enjoyed building so much that I never looked back.

I then moved back to Kansas, where I worked for the president of PHCC for many years. I moved to Lake Lotawana, just outside Blue Springs, MO, and worked for Frank Stasy, another member of PHCC. It was there that I met my wife; we married and returned to California, where she was from. I then worked for George Brazil, the president of the National PHCC. When they were sold to consolidators, I decided to start my own business and never looked back. It has been a rewarding career.
