My career began in the 1970s, and I have only worked for a select few employers. I started with a family-run business led by Bruce Campbell in Laguna Beach, a brilliant individual who initiated a plumbing training program in 1933; I learned a great deal from him. Then, I transitioned to commercial construction while attending UC Irvine to study business law. I enjoyed building so much that I never looked back.

Eventually, I went back to Kansas and spent several years working for the president of PHCC. I then relocated to Lake Lotawana, near Blue Springs, MO, where I worked for Frank Stasy, another PHCC member. It was in that period that I met my wife; we married and relocated back to California, where she was originally from. I then worked for George Brazil, the president of the National PHCC. When they were acquired by consolidators, I chose to go out on my own and have never regretted it. It has been a fulfilling journey.
