My career began in the 1970s, and I have only worked for a select few employers. I kicked off my career with a family business run by Bruce Campbell in Laguna Beach, a knowledgeable person who launched a plumbing training program in 1933; I learned extensively from him. Next, I shifted to commercial construction while pursuing business law at UC Irvine. I enjoyed building so much that I never looked back.

Eventually, I went back to Kansas and spent several years working for the president of PHCC. I moved to Lake Lotawana, just outside Blue Springs, MO, and worked for Frank Stasy, another member of PHCC. It was in that period that I met my wife; we married and relocated back to California, where she was originally from. I then worked for George Brazil, the president of the National PHCC. When they were acquired by consolidators, I chose to go out on my own and have never regretted it. It has been a fulfilling journey.
