I need replace my water tank, and the guy came quote for $2K. This is 50 gallon bradford white water tank. I know retail price is about $700 and 3 hours to finish. It is way overpriced quote. I refused and had another company coming performed same job for $1200.

make sure you compare the price before taking their bid..

I'm sure someone else will do it for cheaper whatever it is.

I had a leak in my water line somewhere and paid the $30 to have them come out and look for it. They were quick to respond, showed up on time, and were professional. They looked through the house and determined it was outside. Evidently the $30 doesn't cover them locating the leak underground. Then they gave me an estimate of over $5000 to fix it.

I declined and paid someone else $350 to locate the leak in the yard, I spent an hour with a friend digging to find the line, then spent a few hours figuring out how to install a $15 part to fix the leak (would have taken a real plumber maybe 15 minutes to do). So I fixed the leak for $365 and half a days work when they wanted $5k.

3 Mountain Plumbing was very responsive to an initial rain drain issue in our back yard and had several teams out to assess issues as they kept arising. After learning of completely blocked drains in a new house purchase, Robert, Rich and Skyler went above and beyond today to scope the entire rain drain system and come up with a great option that saved having to tear up a newly sodded lawn! Jose and Landon did a great job on previous visits helping to figure out what was going on! So far, I have been really impressed with their prompt service, responsive communication and ability to give multiple options to solve the problem! No one expects to find out their rain drains are clogged with cement! Their creative problem solving and honestly likely has saved us thousands of dollars!

We got home late at night after a delayed flight from a weekend trip to find our water heater had been leaking while we were gone. I found 3 mountains through referrals on the nextdoor app and called their service line at 2am. To my surprise at 2am, I spoke with a nice rep who took all my info down, the next morning they called me first thing and squeezed me into their schedule same day. A fully stocked truck came out and ended up replacing my water heater that turned out to be much older than we thought when we bought the home. We even called around when the team was here for competitive bids, three mountain was slightly higher but for the quality of service, convenience and speed of installation it was well worth it! Thanks Tjader and Coleman!

Never again. It was like being in a Three Stooges skit. They quoted a rain drain repair as rats had chewed through at a pipe joint. We set a day. They sent me a text the day before telling, not asking, me they were starting a half day early. Working from home, I was in meetings making it difficult just drop everything for them. When the crew arrived the problems started. They had not been told by the person selling the job what the work was. It appeared Three Mountains does not allow direct calling of employees, even by other employees, all calls go through the office. This takes about 20 minutes to connect with the sales person each time. So the crew decided what work they were going to do. When I told them they were not doing what I was sold, I was told ""They just sell the job, they don't tell us what to do we decide that"". What they were going to do would not solve the problem I hired them for. If I had not been home, they would have done un-needed work that did not solve the problem. They quit for the day. Next day they returned with a new person. While I was explaining what was done, what was remaining, he proudly told me that he had 20 years experience and did not need to do what the people before him doing. He then proceeded to cut an elbow in half, for which there is no repair. There is absolutely no reason to do that ever. He then tried to put an expanding plug in the half elbow only to find he did not have one. An expanding plug is not a permanent solution. The second person arriving had one. As he could no longer hook up to the sewer line where the crew the day before planned, he had to get a backhoe in the yard and dig another hole to the sewer line. On the other end where the rat had chewed through the second guy was preparing reconnect the section of pipe with the rat hole in it. Later I found that they had damaged two irrigation lines. When I asked about fixing that they referred to the fine print in the contract that they are not responsible. Seems they also forgot to get a permit. I suspect they would not pass inspection, as I can't image a city inspector allowing an expansion plug in a half elbow. By the time they left I was just happy they were off my property. It was like being in a Three Stooges skit.

Landon came out to take a look at the sewer line on a house I just purchased but had to waive inspection on. He was patient and thorough and gave me plenty of advice and selecting hardware. I'm now waiting on the quote for a couple new toilets instead of a whole new line, thankfully!

I regret to inform you of the passing of one Bradford white 75 gallon hot water heater. Water heaters these days typically last 10 to 15 years. Ours died last weekend, at the old age of 20. She didn't leak, and there was no big mess. She simply refused to stay lit. No autopsy was performed, but the plumbers commented on the accumulation of residue which added ~ 15 pounds to her weight as they carried her disconnected body to the waiting truck. She was consistent throughout her working life. She provided the right amount of warmth right up until the weekend, when she could go no more. She maintained a comfortable temperature for all of her days. It was reported that she never boiled over. She was a simple natural gas water heater--not some fancy boiler. Her steadiness was remarkable, and in an age with so much division, she treated all equitably. To say that she will be lovingly remembered would require manufactured feelings, though in fairness, one could say that her absence reminded us of the important role she played in our lives, though we seldom acknowledged her contributions to our comfort and safety. When we complained about the monthly gas and water bills, it never occurred to us that she was an accomplice. She was oblivious to politics, taxes, hidden fees or environmental impact.
After her passing, it took me several days to find a plumber. I asked for an estimate on Yelp. I was soon inundated with replies. But none were able to do the work. Several said they were busy for the foreseeable future.
Cornel's Plumbing referred me to 3 Mountains Plumbing. (Thank you!)
The capable duo of Cameron and Tjader of 3Mountains Plumbing arrived as scheduled, wearing bright orange booties and masks for Covid-19 protection, and with the requisite amount of gravitas. They confirmed, as I expected, that resuscitation was not possible. The flame of the pilot light that burned for so long has been extinguished forever. They took the final temperature reading and made the official declaration. After discussion about options, they respectfully gave me time to think. I quickly decided on a course of action. I chose not to be present when they disconnected her. I watched from a distance as they respectfully carried her outside. I almost held back a tear when they loaded her into the truck. I was envisioning 'ashes to ashes' but they said something about scrap metal recycling. What does one say at a time like this? It may seem fast, to some, to move on so quickly after such a short period of mourning. But we felt that the best way forward would be to immediately adopt a replacement from the same stock. We got our new hot water heater that same day, after only 4 days of cold showers.
She was gently carried in and now stands ready to work. She was not cheap. Then again, quality sometimes cost more. We know she comes from a good lineage, Bradford White. She comes from the same model as the one that died, 75 gallons, although the new one has electronics to relight it, a better thermostat, and is a larger diameter because they use more insulation.
We all go through the stages of grieving. Denial. (No, not the river in Egypt). It's just the sense of disbelief. At first, the water in my shower feeling cool, then suddenly it was freezing. This is the shock. Then pain and guilt. Did I overlook maintenance? Am I the only homeowner who doesn't annually drain the tank as recommended?
I replayed the last few days in my mind: Anger. Who did this? I wanted to blame. The house is only 20 years old. I cannot fault a previous owner, or an inspector. Not the manufacturer--it was well past the 6 year warranty. The average home water heater lasts 8 to 12 years. Beyond that is 'borrowed time.' A colleague told me her water heater failed at 20, flooding the basement. Another tells me her 20 year old water heater flooded her garage.
I am happy with the new one. When she is lit up, she roars like a small airplane. In the early hours of her life, she emitted a cloudy grey brown colored substance, then she started to run clear. She burped a little bit; perhaps it was lingering indigestion as she adjusted to her new home. We hope she becomes comfortable so much that we forget she is even there, just like her predecessor. The stages of grief are not sequential. I've been through all these over the past week: Shock, Denial, Pain and Guilt, Anger, Sadness, Bargaining, Depression. The time came when I realized I just had to pay for a new water heater. Special thanks to Tjader and Cameron and 3 Mountains Plumbing for helping us through this difficult time as quickly as possible.
The old water heater had no known relatives. It was once rumored that she was connected to the washing machine and the dishwasher. No services will be held due to Covid-19 restrictions. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to the charity of your choice.

Plumber came early on Tuesday to find a leak. Couldn't find anything obvious so we decided to pay $1400 (potentially $6000) to move to the next step, Leak Detection and fix. This required a $700 deposit, this charge came out immediately.

Then.....nothing. No follow up. I even called multiple times to find out when my Leak Detection might be scheduled. No one called me back.

Finally this morning, Friday (my water has been turned off this whole time) I received a call from the original plumber who told me ""I think we dropped the ball here"". NO ONE SCHEDULED THE LEAK DETECTION. I wasn't on anyone's agenda to follow up or do any of the work...all while waterless.

What's even worse is the Plumber was able to get the Leak Detection scheduled on the exact same day as he called, this morning. Had absolutely anyone done their job right I'd be days into this process instead of feeling like I made a bad decision choosing this company.

Again....they took my money IMMEDIATELY but had I not called I suppose they would have just not done the work?

It's too late for me to start this process over again but if I were you I'd check with other companies first.

I can't recommend 3 Mountains Plumbing due to a negative experience after a very positive one. We called them for a blocked drain. Andrea came out and was amazing, professional, and cleared up our problem. We were so pleased. We asked her about sink replacement and she got us immediately set up with an appointment for an estimate. Wow, she was amazing. Jeff came out on the appointed day. He was also great. We selected materials and set the date for installation and paid half down. We cleared everything out of the way for our 4/1 appointment at 8 am. At 8:30 Ashley called us to say unfortunately there was a schedule problem and she would call me back later that day. She still hasn't called back. It's been a week. I've called 4 times, I've requested help, a call back, some sort of communication. It has not yet happened. It's been a job, to try to get them to come and do this job. We are going to have to dispute the payment on our credit card and find a company interested in performing this service. I'm so disappointed as we were so pleased with our interaction before this complete failure and 0 communication.
