As the son and grandson of plumbers, I learned the trade early. Our grandfather, R.C., was the patriarch of our family. He introduced us to the plumbing trade when we were young. On Saturday mornings, we would accompany him in his old white Ford plumbing van. The side of that van proudly displayed ""R.C. Gochenour & Son's Plumbing and Heating"" in bold red letters. He imparted both plumbing skills and a strong work ethic. In those days, he made sure we earned what we got. During the 1990s and into the 2000s, I gained experience with several companies. In 2008, I decided to pursue my plumbing master license. Years passed, and in early 2014, I chose to obtain a Class A contractor's license and revive a version of Granddad's old business... That’s when R.C. Gochenour & Son Plumbing LLC came to life in late 2014.

As a young boy, Granddad would rise early on Saturdays to take me out in that old white Ford plumbing van. We would head out to tackle a job that someone had reached out to him about the day before. Granddad instilled a strong work ethic in us during those formative years. During my teenage summers, I worked alongside plumbers, primarily uncles from my mother's side, in Northern Virginia. After graduating in 1989, I continued my journey in the plumbing trade. After more than nine years in residential plumbing, I moved into industrial plumbing with a local firm in the Valley. For the next 14 years, I gained significant experience and knowledge in industrial plumbing. After rising to foreman and then general foreman, I departed the Valley for a Project Supervisor role with a larger construction and engineering firm. I always had the desire to do things on my own terms. Thus, in late 2014, R.C. Gochenour & Son Plumbing LLC came into existence.
