Our company was initiated in 1937 when German immigrants William Schmidtke and Helmut Klein bought Tobin Sheet Metal. Our original name was Capital Sheet Metal, and we were based on State Street. Over the years, our sheet metal skills expanded into ductwork creation, leading us to become a full-service heating and air conditioning contractor.
In 1963, we incorporated and became an authorized dealer for General Electric, now known as Trane, for heating and air conditioning systems.
In 1973, we relocated to our current address at 1218 Carpenter Rd SE in Lacey.
In 1980, following William Schmidtke's death, Larry Schmidtke and his wife Dianne took charge of the company.
Larry and Dianne retired in 2003, and in 2007, their three sons—William, Chuck, and Dean—became the new owners. 2007 also saw the registration of the trade name ""Capital Heating & Cooling.""
Having been raised in the heating and air conditioning industry, Dean has acquired knowledge in multiple facets, including residential and commercial sales, dealer and manufacturer support, marketing, and accounting.
