For three generations, our family-run business, Capital Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electric, offers complete HVAC, plumbing, and electrical services for residential and commercial clients, as well as a certified duct cleaning service by NADCA.
In 1937, two German immigrant partners, William Schmidtke and Helmut Klein, established our company by purchasing Tobin Sheet Metal. We started as Capital Sheet Metal, located on State Street. With time, our sheet metal fabrication capabilities transitioned into ductwork development, allowing us to grow into a comprehensive heating and air conditioning contractor.
In 1963, we incorporated and became an authorized dealer for General Electric, now known as Trane, for heating and air conditioning systems.
We moved to our current site at 1218 Carpenter Rd SE in Lacey in 1973.
After the passing of William Schmidtke in 1980, Larry Schmidtke and his wife Dianne assumed control of the business.
Larry and Dianne retired in 2003, and in 2007, their three sons—William, Chuck, and Dean—became the new owners. 2007 also saw the registration of the trade name ""Capital Heating & Cooling.""
Having been raised in the heating and air conditioning industry, Dean has acquired knowledge in multiple facets, including residential and commercial sales, dealer and manufacturer support, marketing, and accounting.
