Jackman's of Bristol, Inc. has been serving the community since 1930 when Glenn Jackman launched the coal and firewood venture, Jackman Coal & Coke Company, in Bristol. Later, his sons entered the family business: Fred in 1946 while Glenn Jr. joined in 1950. The business saw four of Glenn's sons join the team: Fred and Glenn in Bristol while Charles and Ralph later operated in Vergennes, after the purchase of ""Thomas Mack Coal Co."" in Vergennes, which became Jackman Fuels, Inc. in 1938. Fuel oil was introduced to our offerings in 1947 and later added LP gas. We discontinued coal sales in 1967.
Fred Jackman became the sole owner of Jackman's after Glenn Jr.'s passing in 1974. He operated the business until his retirement in February 1995, when he passed the business to his sons, Paul and Peter. On July 16, 2018, Paul and Peter sold the company to Timothy Bouvier and his wife, Kristine Evarts Bouvier. Tim started working with us in 1999. With this new ownership came a new name: Jackman's of Bristol, Inc..
