Established in 1930, Jackman's of Bristol, Inc. has a long history when Glenn Jackman launched the coal and firewood venture, Jackman Coal & Coke Company, in Bristol. Later, his sons entered the family business: Fred joined in 1946 and Glenn Jr. in 1950. Four of Glenn's sons became part of the business: Fred and Glenn in Bristol and later Charles and Ralph in Vergennes, following the acquisition of ""Thomas Mack Coal Co."" in Vergennes, which transitioned to Jackman Fuels, Inc. in 1938. In 1947, we expanded our product line to include fuel oil and subsequently included LP gas. By 1967, coal sales ceased.
After the death of Glenn Jr. in 1974, Fred Jackman took sole ownership of Jackman's. He operated the business until his retirement in February 1995, when he transferred ownership to his sons, Paul and Peter. Timothy Bouvier and his wife, Kristine Evarts Bouvier, acquired the company from Paul and Peter on July 16, 2018. Tim started working with us in 1999. The new ownership introduced a fresh name: Jackman's of Bristol, Inc..
