Since 1930, Jackman's of Bristol, Inc. has been a trusted name when Glenn Jackman started the coal and firewood business known as Jackman Coal & Coke Company in Bristol. His sons later became part of the company: Fred joined in 1946 while Glenn Jr. joined in 1950. Glenn's four sons joined the operation: Fred and Glenn in Bristol and later, Charles and Ralph worked in Vergennes, after the purchase of ""Thomas Mack Coal Co."" in Vergennes, which transitioned to Jackman Fuels, Inc. in 1938. In 1947, we expanded our product line to include fuel oil along with L.P. Gas in subsequent years. By 1967, coal sales ceased.
After the death of Glenn Jr. in 1974, Fred Jackman took sole ownership of Jackman's. Fred led the company until he retired in February 1995, at which point he sold the business to his sons, Paul and Peter. On July 16, 2018, the company changed hands to Timothy Bouvier and Kristine Evarts Bouvier from Paul and Peter. Tim began his journey with the company in 1999. With this new ownership came a new name: Jackman's of Bristol, Inc..
