Jackman's of Bristol, Inc. has been serving the community since 1930 when Glenn Jackman started the coal and firewood business known as Jackman Coal & Coke Company in Bristol. His sons joined the business: Fred became involved in 1946 and Glenn Jr. in 1950. The business saw four of Glenn's sons join the team: Fred and Glenn in Bristol while Charles and Ralph later operated in Vergennes, after the purchase of ""Thomas Mack Coal Co."" in Vergennes, which was rebranded as Jackman Fuels, Inc. in 1938. In 1947, we expanded our product line to include fuel oil and subsequently included LP gas. We discontinued coal sales in 1967.
Following Glenn Jr.'s death in 1974, Fred Jackman assumed full ownership of Jackman's. Fred led the company until he retired in February 1995, when he transferred ownership to his sons, Paul and Peter. On July 16, 2018, the company changed hands to Timothy Bouvier and Kristine Evarts Bouvier from Paul and Peter. Tim started working with us in 1999. This transition brought a new name: Jackman's of Bristol, Inc..
