Since 1930, Jackman's of Bristol, Inc. has been a trusted name when Glenn Jackman founded the Coal and Firewood Business as Jackman Coal & Coke Company in Bristol. His sons joined the business: Fred joined in 1946 and Glenn Jr. in 1950. Glenn's four sons joined the operation: Fred and Glenn in Bristol and later, Charles and Ralph worked in Vergennes, after acquiring ""Thomas Mack Coal Co."" in Vergennes, which became Jackman Fuels, Inc. in 1938. Fuel oil was introduced to our offerings in 1947 along with L.P. Gas in subsequent years. By 1967, coal sales ceased.
Following Glenn Jr.'s death in 1974, Fred Jackman assumed full ownership of Jackman's. He operated the business until his retirement in February 1995, when he transferred ownership to his sons, Paul and Peter. On July 16, 2018, the company changed hands to Timothy Bouvier and Kristine Evarts Bouvier from Paul and Peter. Tim started working with us in 1999. The new ownership introduced a fresh name: Jackman's of Bristol, Inc..
