Established in 1930, Jackman's of Bristol, Inc. has a long history when Glenn Jackman started the coal and firewood business known as Jackman Coal & Coke Company in Bristol. His sons joined the business: Fred joined in 1946 and Glenn Jr. in 1950. The business saw four of Glenn's sons join the team: Fred and Glenn worked in Bristol while Charles and Ralph later operated in Vergennes, following the acquisition of ""Thomas Mack Coal Co."" in Vergennes, which transitioned to Jackman Fuels, Inc. in 1938. In 1947, fuel oil was added to the product line and later added LP gas. We discontinued coal sales in 1967.
Fred Jackman became the sole owner of Jackman's after Glenn Jr.'s passing in 1974. He operated the business until his retirement in February 1995, at which point he sold the business to his sons, Paul and Peter. Timothy Bouvier and his wife, Kristine Evarts Bouvier, acquired the company from Paul and Peter on July 16, 2018. Tim began his journey with the company in 1999. The new ownership introduced a fresh name: Jackman's of Bristol, Inc..
