He pursued mechanical engineering in college until a family health issue prompted him to pause his studies. During this break, he embarked on a plumbing apprenticeship, contributing to commercial projects like the Camp Allen MUH building in Norfolk, the Sentara Princess Ann hospital in Virginia Beach, and the Langley Air Force Base hospital renovation in Hampton. Upon finishing his apprenticeship and successfully passing the state board for contractors journeyman plumber exam, he earned his plumbing license and worked as a plumbing contractor at Little Creek Amphibious Base in Norfolk. After holding the journeyman plumber card for a year, he took the state board for contractors exam to become a master plumber and also obtained his class C contractor license, which led to the creation of David Sulouff Plumbing!
