After growing up in Bedford, Massachusetts, just 30 minutes from Boston, David Sulouff transitioned to Norfolk, Virginia following his high school graduation. While studying mechanical engineering in college, a family illness forced him to step away from his academic pursuits. While on hiatus from college, he started a plumbing apprenticeship, working on commercial construction projects such as the Camp Allen MUH building in Norfolk, the Sentara Princess Ann hospital in Virginia Beach, and the renovation of the Langley Air Force Base hospital in Hampton. Once he completed his apprenticeship and passed the state board for contractors journeyman plumber test, he became a licensed plumber, taking on work as a plumbing contractor at Little Creek Amphibious Base in Norfolk. Having held the journeyman plumber card for one year, he sat for the state board for contractors exam to become a master plumber and obtained his class C contractor license, which marked the beginning of David Sulouff Plumbing!
