In 1920, Vearl Manwill set out with his horse and wagon, equipped with tools, carbide lights, and piping to begin a journey that took him to various farmhouses to set up “modern” carbide lanterns and plumbing. His installations were part of the first indoor lighting systems ever created. After some time, Vearl decided to make Salt Lake City his home and opened a plumbing business from his garage on 2700 South. In 1943, he established his first showroom on 300 South in Salt Lake City. The shop was a full-service hardware store with products ranging from washers and dryers to jewelry. He acquired one of the first TVs in Salt Lake City. Though the television only displayed black and white images, it became a sensation in the community and drew crowds of people. In time, Vearl no longer needed to sell jewelry and appliances to dedicate himself to what he did best—plumbing and heating goods. The business is now managed by his grandson.

Currently, the business is led by Jim Manwill, the third generation. Jim was raised in the family business engaging in tasks from trench digging to plumbing new homes, executing repairs, and selling HVAC products. Jim now employs over 40 skilled service professionals focused on delivering exceptional customer service, reliable products, and quality craftsmanship. Jim earned the ""Circle of Excellence"" recognition.
