In 1925, K.B. Hill established Hill Plumbing Company in Sumter, SC, with a $250 loan.

Today, Hill Plumbing Company is recognized as one of the largest plumbing contractors in South Carolina, nearly a century after its founding.

With only a bicycle and basic tools, K.B. Hill developed the company from the ground up, including the installation of Sumter's first built-in tub.

He was dedicated to his trade and took a grassroots approach, nurturing relationships and engaging with the local community.

K.B. was committed to helping those in need, even supporting a disabled and terminally ill employee by keeping him on payroll until his passing.

Surviving the Great Depression, K.B. eventually passed the business to his son, Leverne Hill, in 1957.

Leverne expanded the company’s focus on commercial plumbing, broadening Hill Plumbing's reach across the state.
