With only a bicycle and basic tools, K.B. Hill developed the company from the ground up, including the installation of Sumter's first built-in tub.

He was passionate about his work and focused on grassroots efforts, fostering relationships and collaborating with the local community.

He took pride in assisting those less fortunate, including keeping a disabled and terminally ill employee on payroll until he passed away.

Surviving the Great Depression, K.B. eventually passed the business to his son, Leverne Hill, in 1957.

Under Leverne's leadership, the company grew its emphasis on commercial plumbing, expanding Hill Plumbing's footprint across South Carolina.
