In 1995, he started a new firm in Canton named ""Groff's Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc."" DeVon welcomed a pair of partners to team up with him: a talented technician from Lancaster, and a former pastor from Canton. He functioned as the head technician for the business until his untimely death in 2007 due to a fatal heart attack. Seven years later, DeVon opted to focus solely on the Lancaster business and divested his share in the Canton business to his other partner, Jason Denlinger. The company has been called ""Solaire Home Comfort"" and functions in close alliance with ""Solaire Energy"", the solar energy firm run by Jason's wife. This business blends a deep and successful track record in the community with a new plus progressive method to the business.
