His guiding principle was, and remains, ""Big enough to handle the job, yet small enough to care."" Growing up in the Tri Cities, Scott Bird spent his youth working on a farm alongside his dad until he was 19. After finishing high school, he chose to embark on a two-year mission for his church in Germany. Upon his return, he enrolled at Ricks College, now known as BYUI, where he met his beloved Jody and they married in 1983.
