The Schneller family established the company in 1928. Rudy and Jean Schneller were the first owners. The company was bought by Kris Knochelmann in 2011. Kris has been involved in the plumbing, heating, and air conditioning industry since his high school days. In 1991, he, along with his brothers and brother-in-law, took over his family business, Knochelmann Plumbing, Heating & Air. They sold that business to Service Experts, a national chain owned by Lennox, in 1997. In 2011, after losing his job, Kris opted to purchase Schneller. Kris collaborates with his three brothers, four nephews, former technicians, managers, installers, and office personnel, emphasizing a family-like approach to customer service. Kris Knochelmann graduated from Covington Latin School and earned an accounting degree from Xavier University in 1991. In 1996, Lisa Knochelmann completed her education at Notre Dame Academy and NKU, earning a degree in accounting. Kris served as a Kenton County Commissioner from 2007 to 2015 and is currently the Kenton County Judge Executive. He has been active in various community service organizations.
