His father, a plumber, imparted crucial skills that would aid him throughout his career. He pursued further education in computers, refrigeration, and commercial restaurant equipment. He held various positions, including work with the Electricians Union and Hobart Sales and Service. Eventually, he made the move to Minneapolis, MN, to work for Hobart Corporate, with his wife and infant in tow. After a year in Minneapolis and finding out he was expecting another child, he realized it was time to go back to Little Hocking and establish his own business.
