Still, I was not content with this limited understanding, so I dedicated myself to learning the science and history of plumbing! Following a conflict with a supervisor, I opted to go into business for myself, which was the first step toward realizing my dreams! Since then, I’ve been able to share my expertise with my two younger brothers and see them flourish as well!
As a kid, I was consistently told I was smart or gifted, which led me to believe I was meant to build something larger than life. With a single mother raising me, money issues were a constant challenge. I envisioned one day using my ‘talented brain’ to make our troubles disappear, but that day felt like a distant dream.
