At that time, I didn’t recognize the value of the opportunity and considered the trade “too grimy,” but my initial dislike slowly evolved into a deep interest. I was enthusiastic about learning, and soon I made significant strides as a plumbing mechanic. As skilled as I was, I struggled to understand the underlying principles. My uncles instructed me in repairs and replacements, but when confronted with anything atypical, I was entirely bewildered! Still, I desired more than this basic understanding, so I committed to exploring the science and origins of plumbing! Following a conflict with a supervisor, I opted to go into business for myself, which set the stage for my aspirations to come to life! Ever since, I’ve been fortunate to teach my skills to my two younger brothers and witness their success too!

As a kid, I was often told I was intelligent or talented, and this made me feel I was meant to achieve something beyond myself.
