Founded by Homer Potter in 1944, Potter Heating started as a solo venture in Fayetteville. As time passed, the company grew and moved several times. In 1981, after successfully managing the company for 37 years and facing health challenges, Homer sold the business to its current owners, M. Suzanne and David Kondra. Homer continued to play an active role in the business until he passed away in 1986.

Beyond the quality of its Bryant equipment, Potter fabricates a significant portion of the ductwork utilized in its installations. This custom fabrication results in a more polished and tighter end product that promises long-lasting reliability and durability, boosting efficiency and comfort for all users. M. Suzanne DeFuria holds the position of President at Potter Heating & Air Conditioning, a firm that has been in operation since 1944. The company provides heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and services, along with metal fabrication. In 1985, she also became Vice President of Perrone Plumbing.

In 1986, she stood out as the only woman to complete a mentorship program in the Syracuse Builder's Exchange aimed at women and minorities. She continues to cherish her mentorship relationship 22 years later. Additionally, Suzanne studied for and obtained her heating license, being one of only two women in CNY with this certification.
