As a teenager, I was lucky to be introduced to plumbing by my two uncles, who ran their own plumbing and heating enterprises. Back then, I wasn’t grateful for the chance and viewed the trade as “too messy,” but my initial dislike slowly evolved into a deep interest. I had a strong desire to learn, and soon I made significant strides as a plumbing mechanic. Despite my skills, I struggled to understand the underlying principles. My uncles showed me how to fix and install, but whenever something was out of the ordinary, I was utterly confused! Still, I was not content with this limited understanding, so I dedicated myself to learning the science and history of plumbing! Following a conflict with a supervisor, I decided to launch my own venture, which set the stage for my aspirations to come to life! Since then, I’ve been fortunate to teach my skills to my two younger brothers and see them flourish as well!

As a kid, I was consistently told I was smart or gifted, and because of this, I felt destined to create something greater than myself. Raised by a single mom, financial struggles were always present. I constantly thought about how I could use my ‘gifted mind’ to alleviate our struggles, yet that day felt like it would never arrive. As a teenager, I faced a tough period that caused me to lose faith in myself. I started to believe a shadow loomed over me, and I lost sight of my goals. Fast forward a few years, my family and I faced eviction from our apartment, and I was earning minimum wage while also delivering pizzas. I reflected on those I believed I had let down, and I took the blame. That experience of feeling backed into a corner with no one to save me inspired me to seek the resources to not only escape but to lay the groundwork for a better tomorrow! That future is what I named Intrepid!
