Later, his sons entered the family business: Fred became involved in 1946 and Glenn Jr. in 1950. Glenn's four sons joined the operation: Fred and Glenn in Bristol and later Charles and Ralph in Vergennes, after the purchase of ""Thomas Mack Coal Co."" in Vergennes, which transitioned to Jackman Fuels, Inc. in 1938. In 1947, we expanded our product line to include fuel oil along with L.P. Gas in subsequent years. By 1967, coal sales ceased.
Fred Jackman became the sole owner of Jackman's after Glenn Jr.'s passing in 1974. Fred led the company until he retired in February 1995, when he transferred ownership to his sons, Paul and Peter. Timothy Bouvier and his wife, Kristine Evarts Bouvier, acquired the company from Paul and Peter on July 16, 2018. Tim started working with us in 1999. With this new ownership came a new name: Jackman's of Bristol, Inc..
