Founded by Homer Potter in 1944, Potter Heating started as a solo venture in Fayetteville. As time passed, the company grew and moved several times. In 1981, after successfully managing the company for 37 years and facing health challenges, Homer sold the business to its current owners, M. Suzanne and David Kondra. Homer remained involved in the business until his passing in 1986.

In addition to the quality of its Bryant equipment, Potter also manufactures much of the ductwork used in its installations. In 1986, she was the only woman to complete a mentorship program in the Syracuse Builder's Exchange for women and minorities. She maintains her mentorship relationship with pride, 22 years later.
