In 2008, when the stock market crashed, I found myself without a job. After several months of reflection, I chose to pursue my plumbing license and start my own business. I faced challenges in obtaining a business loan, which left me with no choice but to promote my services. During this time, I relied on unemployment benefits, thanks to President Obama, for two years. Since the unemployment money was insufficient for launching my business, I continued to hustle and inform friends and family of my goals. I found it challenging to gain traction, despite my relentless efforts. When I learned that Lowes was hiring installers in 2011, I took action. I have built a moderate reputation in plumbing, but I am still working to thrive. I owe much of my learning to my friend Bill Rucha in Michigan. I am grateful for his assistance and mentorship.
