In 2008, when the stock market crashed, I found myself without a job. After several months of reflection, I chose to pursue my plumbing license and start my own business. With no access to a business loan, I concentrated on getting the word out about my plumbing services. For two years, I utilized unemployment benefits provided by President Obama. The unemployment funds were not enough to start my operations, so I kept networking and sharing my plans with friends and family. Even with my hard work, I struggled to make headway. In 2011, I noticed that Lowes was looking for installers, so I seized the opportunity. I have built a moderate reputation in plumbing, but I am still working to thrive.
