At that time, I didn’t fully appreciate the opportunity and thought the trade was “too dirty,” but over time, my aversion turned into curiosity. I was eager to learn, and soon I made significant strides as a plumbing mechanic. As skilled as I was, I found it challenging to grasp the underlying concepts. My uncles taught me how to repair and replace, but when confronted with anything atypical, I was entirely bewildered! Nonetheless, I wasn’t satisfied with this narrow knowledge, so I committed to exploring the science and origins of plumbing! Following a conflict with a supervisor, I opted to go into business for myself, which set the stage for my aspirations to come to life! From that point on, I’ve been fortunate to teach my skills to my two younger brothers and watch them thrive as well!

Fast forward a few years, my mother, brother, sister, and I were evicted from our home, and I was working a minimum wage job while delivering pizzas after hours. I reflected on those I believed I had let down, and I took the blame. That sensation of being trapped with no one to rescue me inspired me to seek the resources to not only dig my way out but to build a better future! That future is called Intrepid!
