As a third-generation owner of the family business started in 1951 by his grandfather and run for over three decades by his uncle Bob Laughlin, Dan holds great pride in this legacy. Dan graduated from Parkway West High School and embarked on a five-year apprenticeship, sponsored by Plumbers/Pipefitters Local 562. Once he obtained his plumbing licenses for both St. Louis City and St. Louis County, he advanced to Job Foreman, overseeing larger plumbing projects for O.J. Laughlin. After five years in the role of Field Foreman, he gradually shifted to the office, where he was trained as both an Estimator and Project Manager. Dan was elevated to Vice President in 2000, where he became responsible for a wide range of commercial, industrial, medical, and healthcare projects. He managed all design/build projects independently. On December 28, 2012, Dan and Bob Laughlin finalized a purchase agreement, transferring sole ownership of O.J. Laughlin Plumbing Company, Inc. to Dan.
