After graduating from Parkway West High School, Dan began a five-year apprenticeship program sponsored by Plumbers/Pipefitters Local 562. After securing his plumbing licenses in St. Louis City and St. Louis County, he was promoted to Job Foreman, managing O.J. Laughlin's larger plumbing projects. After five years as a Field Foreman, he transitioned into the office, where he trained to become both an Estimator and Project Manager. Dan was elevated to Vice President in 2000, where he became responsible for a wide range of commercial, industrial, medical, and healthcare projects. He was solely in charge of all design/build projects. On December 28, 2012, Dan and Bob Laughlin executed a purchase agreement, giving Dan complete ownership of O.J. Laughlin Plumbing Company, Inc.
