Harry Berger established Standard Plumbing in 1923, installing our first coal-fed, gravity-fired furnace in Manhattan, KS. With our name recognized, we secured our first major project, installing plumbing in the new Wareham hotel. Indeed, that very Wareham hotel!

During the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl, Mr. Berger ventured to Alaska to seek gold, leaving his wife in charge. When he returned from Alaska, Paul Anderson joined the company as an apprentice plumber in 1941, staying for 16 years before buying it in 1957.

Later, Paul’s sons, Rick and Dale, joined the family business. We made history in 1958 by installing the first central air conditioning unit in the area. In January 1988, Rick purchased Dale Anderson's portion of the company.

In 2004, four employees took ownership of the company. Three of those employees remain today and serve as the Board of Directors, overseeing daily operations.
