In 1987, Daryl Welker started Poor John's Plumbing. Daryl wanted to enhance his family's quality of life. In 1995, he encountered his wife, and they teamed up in business. They operated the business side by side until 2014. Today, their son and nephew manage the business, carrying on the family name.

Bob's Rooter Service began was by Bob Trowbridge in the year 2000. Bob's son Brett began assisting him in the summer after school hours from the start and now works full-time for Bob's Rooter. Bob's path into the construction industry started when his parents purchased Land Hardware in Kansas City's historic Northeast neighborhood located at St John and Hardesty for a period of ten years. This hardware store was sold back in 1988 as Bob's parents chose to retire. Following that, Bob became the manager with Evergreen Lawn Care in Grandview, MO, which was later acquired by Barefoot Lawn, leaving Bob to seek new employment yet again. During 1991, Bob took a position as the manager of the shop at Reddi Services at their previous site located in Turner, KS. Eventually, Bob transitioned to working in the field at Reddi Services as a service tech and remained with them until the spring of 2000 after the passing of both his parents. Bob decided to start his own business and parted ways with Reddi Root'r.

Thirty-five years ago, my plumbing journey commenced with Morgan Plumbing & Heating Company. After obtaining my master’s license, I desired fresh challenges, which I found by joining the esteemed Kansas City franchise, Roto Rooter. During my time there, I built a plumbing department from the ground up, gaining expertise in corporate procedures and serving a broad customer base across the Metro area.

As I conducted plumbing training sessions for new employees at Roto Rooter, I honed my knowledge of various plumbing products. After five years, driven by a yearning for greater independence, I co-founded Morgan Miller Plumbing with Bob Miller in 1997.
