Dan, a third-generation member of the family business founded in 1951 by his grandfather and later managed for over 30 years by his uncle Bob Laughlin, takes immense pride in his heritage. After graduating from Parkway West High School, Dan began a five-year apprenticeship program sponsored by Plumbers/Pipefitters Local 562. Upon earning his plumbing licenses for St. Louis City and St. Louis County, he was elevated to Job Foreman, taking charge of O.J. Laughlin's significant plumbing projects. Following five years as a Field Foreman, he moved into the office, receiving training to become an Estimator and Project Manager. In 2000, Dan was promoted to Vice President, taking responsibility for most commercial, industrial, medical, and healthcare projects. He took full responsibility for all design/build projects. On December 28, 2012, Dan and Bob Laughlin finalized a purchase agreement, transferring sole ownership of O.J. Laughlin Plumbing Company, Inc. to Dan.
