During the 1980s, John Shekell propelled the company forward by purchasing George Koch Sons' service center. Following his service technician role, he moved into residential HVAC sales. Kevin subsequently took on roles as a commercial industrial HVAC/sheet metal estimator and project manager. At Oakland City University, he completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management.

In 2004, Kevin became the Vice President of Construction. He finished his Master of Business Administration degree at the University of Phoenix in December 2006.
