In 1965, Eldred and Jo Ann Lewis established the business as Lewis Heating & A/C. Situated at 202 S Broadway in Larned, they provided quality Maytag appliances, Motorola TVs, and Coleman heating and cooling systems, along with servicing all brands. In 1971, they moved to their current address at 622 Topeka Street. Their son, Steven Lewis, began working with the company as an HVAC serviceman in 1977. Steven purchased the business from his parents in 2008 and changed the name to Comfort Systems Inc. to signify the shift towards comfort and energy efficiency.
He is a licensed mechanical contractor and plumber in the State of Kansas. He is trained as a home energy rater and has been part of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society since 1992. Moreover, Steven holds NATE certification in duct installation and air distribution.
