Bob's Rooter Service was founded by Bob Trowbridge in November 2000. Brett, the son of Bob, joined him in the summer and after school initially and is now a full-time employee at Bob's Rooter. Bob's path into the construction industry initiated after his parents purchased a hardware store in the Northeast district of Kansas City at St John and Hardesty for ten years. The hardware store was put on the market back in 1988 as Bob's parents decided to retire. Following that, Bob became the manager with Evergreen Lawn Care based in Grandview, MO, which was subsequently bought by Barefoot Lawn, prompting Bob to look for new work again. In the year 1991, Bob joined as shop manager for Reddi Services at their previous site located in Turner, KS. In time, Bob shifted to fieldwork with Reddi Services in the role of service technician and worked there until the spring of 2000 following the loss of his parents. Bob decided to start his own business and parted ways with Reddi Root'r.
