Harry Berger established Standard Plumbing in 1923, installing our first coal-fed, gravity-fired furnace in Manhattan, KS. After establishing our reputation, we took on our first large project, installing plumbing for the new Wareham hotel. That’s right, the same Wareham hotel!

During the tough times of the Depression and Dust Bowl, Mr. Berger went to Alaska to search for gold, leaving his wife to oversee operations. After his return from Alaska, Paul Anderson became an apprentice plumber with the company in 1941, eventually working there for 16 years before purchasing it in 1957.

Paul's sons, Rick and Dale, later became part of the family business. We made history in 1958 by installing the first central air conditioning unit in the area. In January 1988, Rick acquired Dale Anderson's share of the business.

In 2004, the company transitioned to four employees. Three of those employees remain today and serve as the Board of Directors, overseeing daily operations.
