Founded in 1946 under the name Ed Glassman Plumbing & Heating, the visionary Ed Glassman developed the nascent company into a prominent player in local contracting. In 1972, after years of service, Joseph's dad, Adolph and his associate, Charles Staab purchased the firm and renamed it Glassman/Staab Inc.
Carrying on his father's tradition, the son, Joe Glassman launched Glassman Climate Control in the town of Russell, Kansas in the early 1980s. He bought his father's business in 1985, combined it with Glassman Climate Control and moved the operation from Russell to Hays. As Glassman's range of building and mechanical services grew, the business was renamed Glassman Corporation in 1991.
