Harry Berger established Standard Plumbing in 1923, installing our first coal-fed, gravity-fired furnace in Manhattan, KS. After establishing our reputation, we took on our first large project, installing plumbing for the new Wareham hotel. Yes, that Wareham hotel!

In the midst of the Depression and Dust Bowl, Mr. Berger traveled to Alaska to pan for gold, while his wife managed the business. Upon returning from Alaska, Paul Anderson joined the company in 1941 as an apprentice plumber and worked there for 16 years before acquiring it in 1957.

Later, Paul’s sons, Rick and Dale, joined the family business. In 1958, we installed the first central air conditioning unit in the town. In January 1988, Rick acquired Dale Anderson's share of the business.

In 2004, the company transitioned to four employees. Three of those employees remain today and serve as the Board of Directors, overseeing daily operations.
