Eldred and Jo Ann Lewis founded the company in 1965 as Lewis Heating & A/C. Located at 202 S Broadway in Larned, they offered reliable Maytag products, Motorola televisions, and Coleman HVAC systems, as well as service for all brands. In 1971, they transitioned to their current site at 622 Topeka Street. In 1977, their son, Steven Lewis, joined the business as an HVAC technician. Steven purchased the business from his parents in 2008 and changed the name to Comfort Systems Inc. to signify the shift towards comfort and energy efficiency.
Steven is a licensed plumber and mechanical contractor in Kansas. He has received training as a home energy rater and has been a member of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society since 1992. Moreover, Steven holds NATE certification in duct installation and air distribution.
