Poor John's Plumbing was established by Daryl Welker in 1987. His goal was to create a better life for his family. In 1995, he encountered his wife, and they teamed up in business. The couple ran the company together until 2014. Today, their son and nephew manage the business, carrying on the family name.

Bob's Rooter Service was founded was established by Bob Trowbridge on November 3rd, 2000. Brett, Bob's son, began assisting him during the summer and after school initially and is currently a full-time team member with Bob's Rooter. Bob's entry into the construction field initiated following his parents bought a local hardware business in the historic Northeast area of Kansas City situated at St John and Hardesty for ten years. The hardware store was put on the market in 1988 as Bob's parents opted for retirement. Following that, Bob became the manager for Evergreen Lawn Care located in Grandview, MO, which was later acquired by Barefoot Lawn, prompting Bob to look for new work yet again. In the year 1991, Bob joined as the shop manager for Reddi Services at their old location in Turner, KS. Eventually, Bob transitioned to the field for Reddi Services as a service technician and remained with them up until spring 2000 following the loss of his parents. Bob decided to start his own business and parted ways with Reddi Root'r.

As I progressed to a master’s license, I sought new challenges, which I found by joining the esteemed Kansas City franchise, Roto Rooter. There, I had the opportunity to establish a plumbing department from scratch, acquiring knowledge of corporate processes while serving a diverse customer base throughout the Metro area.

As I taught plumbing classes to new recruits at Roto Rooter, I deepened my expertise in various plumbing materials. After five years, motivated by a desire for more independence, I partnered with Bob Miller to co-found Morgan Miller Plumbing in 1997.
