In the '80s, John Shekell took a significant step by acquiring the service center from George Koch Sons. With this purchase, Shekell became the foremost HVAC service provider in the Tri-State area. Transitioning from service and installations, Shekell entered the realm of design/build projects and plan/specification contracting. In 2000, Shekell acquired WSC Associates, a well-respected engineering firm in Evansville, Indiana. An Evansville native, Kevin graduated from Reitz High School in 1988. His journey at J.E. Shekell Inc. began as a residential HVAC installer. During his eight years as a service technician, he achieved an Associate's degree in Applied Science in Industrial Technology from Ivy Tech.

Following his service technician role, he moved into residential HVAC sales. He then expanded his expertise to include commercial industrial HVAC/sheet metal estimating and project management. He pursued his education at Oakland City University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management.

Kevin was appointed Vice President of Construction in 2004. In December 2006, he earned his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix.

Kevin has been married for 16 years and has two children. He was the president of the Evansville SMACNA chapter between 2004 and 2006. Kevin took on the role of President of J.E. Shekell in January 2009.
