In 2015 - the previous owner from the company. Our new leader was appointed the new President and CEO. He quickly appointed Adam Sater to oversee Commercial Operations, Charlie to lead Residential Operations & Humphrey to serve as Chief Financial Officer.
Charlie started with Commercial Service in 2007 to help develop the residential side of their heating and cooling business. In 1978, John E. Shekell launched the company, starting with just one van focused on heating and air conditioning. He subsequently grew the business to include plumbing and electrical services. In the '80s, John Shekell took a significant step by acquiring the service center from George Koch Sons. This move established Shekell as the leading HVAC service company in the Tri-State region. Transitioning from service and installations, Shekell entered the realm of design/build projects and plan/specification contracting. In 2000, Shekell purchased WSC Associates, a reputable engineering firm based in Evansville, Indiana. The acquisition allowed Shekell to enhance its design capabilities, establishing a strong presence in the region. Looking back, John Shekell credits the success of J.E. Shekell, Inc. to his loyal customers, committed employees, thorough training, and prioritizing safety.

An Evansville native, Kevin graduated from Reitz High School in 1988. Kevin started working at J.E. Shekell Inc. as a residential HVAC installer. During his eight years as a service technician, he achieved an Associate's degree in Applied Science in Industrial Technology from Ivy Tech.

After his time as a service technician, he transitioned to a residential HVAC sales role. Kevin subsequently took on roles as a commercial industrial HVAC/sheet metal estimator and project manager. He attended Oakland City University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management.

Kevin was appointed Vice President of Construction in 2004. He finished his Master of Business Administration degree at the University of Phoenix in December 2006.

He has been happily married for 16 years and is a father of two. He was the president of the Evansville SMACNA chapter between 2004 and 2006. Kevin took on the role of President of J.E. Shekell in January 2009.
