I was raised in a small town named Advance, Indiana, before settling in Zionsville in the early 1970s. Advance is a prominent farming area, and it taught me that kindness and respect lead to greater opportunities. Helping my grandfather on the farms as a child taught me the importance of diligent work. At just 9 years old, I began working with my father, who was already in the HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) business. That was when crawlspaces were an adventure! After finishing Zionsville High School in 1973, I went straight to work as an HVAC service technician. I worked for several different companies before founding Control Tech in 1983. Some were excellent, while others left much to be desired. What I learned from the less favorable companies was that they often lacked honesty and integrity. The year 2015 - the previous owner from the company. Scott Rink became President and CEO. Rink immediately named Sater as the Vice President of Commercial Operations, Laughlin as the Vice President of Residential Operations & Greg Humphrey to serve as Chief Financial Officer.
Charlie Laughlin became part of Commercial Service back in 2007 to grow our residential heating and cooling services.
