Plumbing Distributors, Inc was established on June 1, 1973, by Gladston Mealor and his son, Sidney, at 166 Buford Drive in Lawrenceville. The company began with a team of four, including Glad and Sid, providing counter sales and delivery services.

On February 13, 1976, PDI became an authorized distributor for American Standard. This partnership significantly enhanced PDI's reputation. The American Standard line allowed us to establish ourselves as a competitive player in the plumbing sector. It also enabled PDI to acquire other prominent plumbing brands like A.O. Smith water heaters and later Aqua Glass bath fixtures.

With PDI's growth, the need for a bigger facility became apparent. We wanted to stay connected to our roots in Lawrenceville. A piece of land was secured in an industrial park off Collins Hill Road, allowing for easy access to Georgia Highway 316. Between 1984 and 2006, our Corporate Headquarters were located at 20 Collins Hill Road, but we had to move again to support our expansion.
